What type of drinks do you think are healthy?

Water

While exercising, you need to always keep your body hydrated with fluids. So the most appropriate type of fluid for this is water, water with fruit or flavoured water.
Water alone is the right type of fluid to drink while exercising or throughout your day. We all need more water to flush our systems out. Good old water is probably the healthiest drink, as water makes up 60% of your body's content. Water helps you feel full, so it is always helpful to have a glass by you when eating dinner, as drinking it will help you realise when you are full. Water also boosts your metabolism to help with weight loss, and the most important thing is that it contains zero calories.

How much water have you drunk today? Do you think you should drink more?

Juices

Some of us are not keen on drinking just water, so another selection of healthy drinks is smoothies, fruit juices & vegetable juices.
Fruit juices
The fruit is full of vitamin C, and with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, you are not just eating one orange, but more like 4 or 5. So try and have a glass a morning to rid your body of viruses and boost your immune system.
Vegetable juices
Vegetable juice is a healthy drink, and swap it for fruit juices. This is because a glass of carrot juice has half the calories as a glass of orange juice. Vegetables are full of nutrients and rich in fiber, so they will help you feel full longer.
Smoothies
For a lovely, thick fruity treat in the morning, mix up a combination of your favourite fruits in a blender with some skimmed milk (or even soya or coconut milk can be added). You get a good morning boost of vitamin C, but remember don't add extra sugar or honey, as this can add calories.

So consider drinking these types of drinks as a healthy option once you finish your workout. You can also drink them to brighten your day.

Hot drinks

Some people enjoy drinking a warm refreshing drink after a workout, before or when they want to relax in the evening. Warm beverages can now be made cold and drunk instead of boiling.

For me, I need sugar in a black coffee to drink it. However, I enjoy a warm cup of green tea. I have tried many herbal teas, but I only like green tea.

The effects of both types of drink are as follows:
1. Green and white teas are extremely healthy, because they provide no calories, but have excellent health benefits. Green tea contains a nutrient called EGCG. This is a powerful antioxidant that inhibits cancer cell growth, killing them without harming our bodies' healthy tissue.
2. Black coffee has many health benefits, as it contains antioxidants that help your mood, metabolism, and concentration. It can also reduce cancer and diabetes risk. Most importantly, it has no calories. This means you can drink it and feel full without the number of calories you would have if you had milk with it.
