Trends in yoga forms are advancing in different directions, including trapeze yoga and aerial yoga.
Aerial yoga is a relatively new type of yoga that originated in New York in 2007. Christopher Harrison, the founder of aerial yoga, was director and choreographer for Antigravity, Inc., an acrobatic performance troupe established in 1991 that ultimately became the inspiration for creating this creative yoga brand.
Fitness and health benefits are amazing. For example, these:
1. It relieves spine compression.
2. Aerial yoga challenges your central nervous system, mental capacity, and proprioception.
3. It increases the pulling strength.
4. Anti-gravity yoga improves flexibility
5. It’s beginner-friendly.
Further benefits of trapeze yoga will allow you to lose weight more effectively. As aerial yoga helps you lose weight by challenging you, you engage your muscles to complete yoga poses while in the air. This can help you build toned and lean muscles while burning body fat.
One of the negatives of this form of exercise is the unsafe element of hanging upside down.
Aerial yoga is a fitness adventure, but adventures are only positive if you survive injury-free. If you hate having your head below your heart or rocking makes you nauseated, this sport may not be for you.
I have stated the negative, but the teachers of this form of yoga are aware of these issues, and the poses are taught safely.
I practice this type of yoga, and recommend it to the teacher. She is fully aware of how being upside down can make you feel, and checks people's wellbeing throughout.
All movements and poses are demonstrated beforehand to help complete poses safely.
So consider all the positives of this sport and try it, you will love it.
