Meeting Father Christmas

Yesterday I visited Nene Valley Railway station. This is a lovely place to take your young child if they are interested in either training or are still enjoying the joy of Santa.

The theme of the station was Christmas at this time of year, but throughout the year they celebrate ‘Thomas the Tank Engine and the fact that they are the UK’s leading international steam attraction, based at Wansford Station, and covering the stations of Overton (for Ferry Meadows), Orton Mere, Yarwell Junction, and Peterborough.

While on your visit you will meet some lovely volunteers and staff dressed like Sir Topham Hatt from ‘Thomas the Tank Engine.’

Although there was this fun link to this cartoon, the main reason that I attended this railway was to go with my family and nephew, who loves trains. My father had arranged a ride on the Christmas train, for lunch and my nephew had a chance to visit Santa.

The photographs above are shots of the train that we travelled on, with a farther Christmas sign on the front. The cabins and station were decorated with great Christmas decorations and crackers on the table for lunch.

We had a yummy sandwich lunch, with mince pies, sausage rolls and pigs in blankets.

While we were on this lovely trip, the young children received a gift from Santa and Santa came and visited each child while travelling on the train.
Here are some photographs of my nephew playing with his toy and he loved it.

Overall this post is a little different from my usual posts that relate to my own photography journey. This blog is to bring you information on this lovely event organised by Nene Valley Railway and encourage you to consider attending the railway with your children.
